Meegs is a true story based on very embarrassing, but hilarious, facts. Starting with a quarter-life crisis that ensued while filling out my first 401(k) at a job that I was overqualified for and underpaid by (a classic millennial combo), cut to buying a one-way ticket to go teach English in a country that I had never been to, cut to getting interrogated in Norway ... the list, as I hope you read to find out, goes on.

This is a story of redemption, heartbreak, adventure, and beer with a splash of tequila. Not in the same cup, of course. Meegs is my story. She is me, I am she, and at one point, we were a real mess. I decided to write it all down because I truly think that anyone out there who feels they too are a real mess right now could use a safe space to escape to so that they can heal, laugh, and not feel so alone. May you lose yourself in the scramble, the love, the discovery, the pain, the homelessness, the growth, and of course, the beer, only to find yourself a bit lighter in the end.

In this installment, the race has officially begun. The race to find another home, the race to find a job, the race to get my visa approved, and the race to see if it's possible to survive falling in love with your best friend. Armed with a broken coat, broken shoes and a damn fine will to try, I navigated homelessness and continued trudging through the adventure of a lifetime. Luckily, most obstacles didn't stand a chance against the impervious and naïve resolve of an early-twenty-something female. However, one obstacle still remains. But like any good procrastinator, we'll get to that later.
